Everyman Theatre has announced its line-up of upcoming acting classes for Spring, 2013. Classes vary from an Audition Workshop to a Physical Comedy Class to Improvisation and more. All classes are taught by well-known, professional actors from the Baltimore/Washington region.
The Audition Workshop is taught by Everyman Theatre's Director of Production and former Resident Company Member Kyle Prue. A fun, supportive class, the Workshop is designed to help the dedicated actor navigate the business and perform with confidence in a variety of audition situations. The class is for aspiring actors aged 18 and above and takes place on Saturday mornings (10 AM to noon) from March 16th through April 13th. Cost of the class is $250.
Sabrina Mandell will be teaching a class on Physical Comedy on Saturday afternoons (1 PM to 3 PM) from May 18th through June 22nd. The class is a super-charged, slam-dunk laboratory where performances can "get down to the nitty-gritty" of what it means to take to the stage and PLAY! The cost of the class is $220 and is intended for actors aged 17 and above.
Everyman's newest Resident Company Member, Beth Hylton, will be teaching Beginning Acting 2 on Saturday mornings (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM) from May 18th through June 22nd. The class is an extension of the previous course, Beginning Acting 1, and focuses on developing a clear process with which to understand and create characters in scene work. The cost of the class is $250 and is intended for actors aged 18 and above (Beginning Acting 1 is strongly recommended).
Finally, Everyman Resident Company Member Bruce Randolph Nelson will teach the very popular Improv 1 class in the late spring and early summer. Section 1 will take place on Monday evenings (7 PM to 9 PM) from May 20th through July 1st, and Section 2 will take place on Monday evenings (6 PM to 9 PM) from July 15th through August 12th. This beginning level course will help students learn to trust their creative instincts, improve listening skills and hone their connections through the art of Improv. Each section costs $225 and is intended for actors aged 18 and above.
Registration is open for all classes. Those interested in classes can visit www.everymantheatre.org/education or call 443-615-7055x7142 for further information or to sign up for a specific class.
