Over the decades, many iconic cartoon characters have emerged in the entertainment world who have stolen the hearts and minds of children, young and old, including Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Betty Boop, Woody Woodpecker, and Charlie Brown. Over the last 11 years, one little cartoon girl has emerged as a juggernaut and has become one of the most famous and recognized characters around the world. Today, there are very few who have not heard of Dora the Explorer. And for the first time, Dora and all of her friends will be live on stage in Frederick with Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre's regional premiere of Dora the Explorer Live! Dora's Pirate Adventure. The show will open September 17th and running through November 5th at the popular family venue.
In Dora's Pirate Adventure, Dora, her best buddy Boots the Monkey, and the rest of their friends embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island. The audience helps them navigate over Dancing Mountain, through Silly Singing Bridge and to confront the Pirate Piggies. Along the way, the audience will use their map-reading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully help Dora reach the treasure. All ends happily onstage with a "yo-ho-ho!"
Since Dora first appeared on the Nickelodeon network in late 2000, the Dora the Explorer has gone on to become a multi-billion dollar franchise worldwide. Today, Dora the Explorer is seen in over 150 markets and is translated into 30 languages. Dora's Pirate Adventure brings together Dora and all of her colorful friends in one live theatrical production perfectly suited for Way Off Broadway family audiences.

Dora the Explorer Live! Dora's Pirate Adventure was created by Chirs Gifford and is directed and staged at Way Off Broadway by Susan Thornton, with musical direction by
