The Rocky Horror Show was written by Richard O'Brien and first premiered in London in 1973 and went on to spin off a movie adaptation in 1975 starring Tim Curry as Frank N Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet, and Barry Bostwick as Brad. Since then, O'Brien's show has become a cult phenomenon spurring productions on Broadway and around the globe. The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre and Stock•ing Productions have announced auditions for their upcoming special Halloween production of the show.
Auditions will be held on Monday, September 12th beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Way Off Broadway. Those auditioning should be at least 18 years old and are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bars of prepared music and be ready to sing, dance, and read from the script.
No appointments are necessary. All roles are non-union paying. The parts of Frank N Furter, Magenta, Columbia, and Rif Raff have already been cast. All other roles are open.
The Rocky Horror Show has a book, music, and lyrics by Richard O'Brien and will be directed at Way Off Broadway by Jordan B. Stocksdale with choreography by Taylor Whidden. The production is produced by The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre and Stock•ing Productions.
The special limited engagement will be presented for only two performances. The first, will be Sunday evening, October 30th at 8:00 p.m. with the second being on Monday evening, October 31st at 9:00 p.m.
