Following The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre's sold out run of Pinkalicious – The Musical, which opened the theatre's 2012 Season, another children's character is getting ready to move into Way Off Broadway for the spring and summer. When Stanley Lambchop, better known as Flat Stanley, comes to Way Off Broadway he will take audiences on a musical journey around the world.

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill ten-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That's just the problem . . . for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one's ever done before. Careful what you wish for, Stanley!

One night, the bulletin board on the wall above Stanley's bed comes loose and falls - right on top of Stanley! The next morning, Stanley Lambchop wakes up flat. Not just a little flat . . . really, REALLY flat! In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley - the ultimate exchange student - scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He's stamped, posted, and cancelled from Hollywood to France to Honolulu and beyond. And whether he's thwarting a robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris, or 'hanging ten' off the coast of Hawaii, Stanley is closing in on his goal of being a three-dimensional boy once more.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley opens at The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre Saturday, April 14th with Matthew Crawford, making his Children's Theatre debut at the theatre, as Stanley, the "2 dimensional" traveler ready to journey around the world. Joining Crawford in the new musical at Way Off Broadway playing the various characters Stanley meets on his travels will be Jordan C. Allen, Jessica Billones, Ryan Patrick Kane, Bill Kiska, Justin Mohay, Shawn Nakia, Jordan B. Stocksdale, and Joseph Waeyaert.

Based on the beloved children's book written by JefF Brown in 1964, that has become a literary and pop cultural phenomenon, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley has a book by Timothy Allen McDonald, with music by David Weinstein, Timothy Allen McDonald, Jonathan K. Waller, and Stephen Gabriel, and lyrics by Timothy Allen McDonald and Jonathan K. Waller. Way Off Broadway's production is directed and staged by Jordan B. Stocksdale.

"Seeing the enormous popularity of characters like Dora the Explorer and Pinkalicious over the last few months, we know Flat Stanley is going to be just as fun and entertaining," says Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer. "Pinkalicious sold out a month before the run was scheduled to end and we think Flat Stanley may do just the same."

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoon and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month with select added weekdays. Tickets are $17 per person for lunch and the show and may be purchased by visiting the theatre's Box Office or calling (301) 662-6600.

Since first opening the Children's Theatre in 1996, it remains a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination for families looking for a fun weekend activity. It has also become a great spot for birthday parties and school trips. So popular, the Children's Theatre has also opened the door for a Breakfast Series at Way Off Broadway which includes yearly Princess Breakfast and the annual Breakfast with Santa (and Mrs. Claus).
