Ready for a brand new beat? Columbia has late night entertainment. This Friday, August 26th, Toby's Dinner Theatre will host the second of a series, The MAIN Thing: Cabaret, in support of EC Partnership which is organized to help rebuild Ellicott City after the July 30th flood. The post-show cabaret begins at 11pm with a $10 cash cover at the door. Drink coupons are also sold. All proceeds go to EC Partnership.

Last Friday, August 19th, Toby's kicked off the series. Some patrons who viewed that night's performance of Hairspray remained for the after-hours Ellicott City fundraiser. Others, waited outside to enter the second attraction for the evening: the cabaret. The early light-hearted rain theme of songs pervaded as resident and business owner, Heather Beck, shared her perspective that rebuilding efforts continue amidst a bedrock of positive energy in the city.

The MAIN Thing Cabarets and Toby's donation bucket have yielded over $6000 for EC Partnership. Toby's and Glenelg Country School will offer more performance dates to help sustain ongoing efforts.

The opening cabaret concluded with Felicia Curry singing "Dancing in the Street" at which point the audience trickled onto Toby's stage for a spontaneous dance party. Co-producer Lehan noted:

"That's our theme song! Rebuild with time, talent, and treasure. Hold onto the promise that one day in Ellicott City, we will be dancing in the streets!"

The August 26th cabaret will include: Felicia Curry, Shannon Wollman, Heather Beck, Christie Graham, David Reynolds, Larry Munsey, Kelli Blackwell, Darren McDonnell, Rob McQuay, Carole Graham Lehan, Jeff Shankle, Chris Youstra, and a teaser from Toby's upcoming Sister Act with Ross Rawlings on piano.

Toby's Dinner Theatre offers award-winning Broadway and original musicals with a buffet-style dinner.

Glenelg Country School is a nonsectarian, PreK-12, co-educational independent day school.
