You loved her as Felicia in Toby's production of Memphis and now she is back, rockin' the rafters from September 8th thru November 13th in Sister Act! Ashley Johnson returns to the Toby's stage as Deloris in the feel-good musical comedy smash based on the hit 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg that has audiences jumping to their feet!

Disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime and hides out in the last place anyone would think to look-a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. Sister Act is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, and is reason to REJOICE!

Sister Act premiered in 2006 at the Pasadena Playhouse in California and broke all box office records. Whoopi Goldberg came on board as a producer and opened the musical in London before bringing it to Broadway in 2011. Whoopi said "To hear people laugh and cheer the way they do at Sister Act, a show people think they know but are pleasantly surprised to discover is not what they are expecting, is a magical experience for a producer."

Based on the Touchstone Pictures motion picture written by Joseph Howard and nominated for 5 Tony awards, including Best Musical, Sister Act features an original score with music by Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid) lyrics by Tony and Academy Award-nominee Glenn Slater (The Little Mermaid), and a book by Emmy Award winners Cherie and Bill Steinkellner (TV's Cheers) with additional book material by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Douglass Carter Beane (Xanadu, The Little Dog Laughed).

With multiple Helen Hayes Award nominations between them, the creative team for Sister Act includes Lawrence B. Munsey (direction), Mark Minnick (choreography) and Ross Scott Rawlings (musical direction). Scenic and lighting design is by David Hopkins with sound design by Mark Smedley. Sister Act is produced by Toby's Dinner Theatre by special arrangement with Music Theatre International, 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10091
