Deconstructing the Musical Audition: From the Musical Director's PerspectiveSaturday, November 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The stage of The Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theatre

Participants: limited to 6-8 people (high school age through adult)
Given by: Michael Tan
Price: $65 per person, $50 for BTA members

Participants will spend the first hour learning how to
-choose audition songs,
-prepare an audition book,
-mark and prepare your music for an accompanist,
-work with an audition accompanist, and
-give the best possible audition.
The last two hours will be master class style with each participant
-performing an audition piece,
-receiving coaching, and then
-performing the song at least one more time.

Preparation: Bring music for one upbeat song and one ballad, with 16-32 measures prepared to sing. Bring your audition book, if you have one. You may want to bring a bottle of water.
If there is enough interest, I may schedule a similar workshop for children (and their parents) in the future.
