"Down on Skid Row" at the Theatre Project, a strange and interesting plant has been spotted. There is a valid explanation for this occurrence, however. Jimi Kinstle, new Artistic Director for Pumpkin Theatre, directs Little Shop of Horrors, a play full of love, laughter, and dentistry. Little Shop of Horrors' (music by Alan Menken and script by Howard Ashman) is filled with so much dark humor that you might just laugh yourself to death. The show opens Friday, July 24 at 7pm. Shows continue July 25 at 7pm, July 26 at 3pm, July 30 at 7pm, July 31 at 7pm, and August 1 at 3pm AND 7pm. Tickets are $12 general, $10 senior/artist and $8 student. Please call (410)-752-8558 for more information or to make reservations.

The performers and technicians in the show are between the ages of 11 and 18. To these young actors, this experience is invaluable. The opportunity to work with a professional director, to learn about styles of acting, and to work with other young talent is a great experience for these kids. Director Jimi Kinstle says, "This musical theatre summer intensive is an opportunity for some of Baltimore's most talented teens to shine and thrive on stage and back stage. It is a very focused process and the young actors and technicians are expected to approach this production with the same professional attitude of the director and designers involved."

Mark Hanson Williams is the Musical Director, Karen Saar is Costume Designer, Robert Olson is co-designing the set with the student technicians and young talent Sara Hickey designs lights. Along with directing, Jimi Kinstle will also play the role of choreographer.

So, if you like musicals, man-eating plants, or sixties sci-fi, please come to the Theatre Project to witness this spectacle, and please remember: DON'T FEED THE PLANTS!
