Everyman Theatre officially kicks off its 2013/14 Season on Friday, September 6th with the opening of the American classic, Tennessee Williams' beloved The Glass Menagerie. Aside from the Broadway production, which begins a 17-week limited engagement September 6, the Everyman production is the only American professional production of the show.

"I am thrilled for audiences to see this quintessential American classic on the Everyman stage," said Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi. "I think it's a great opportunity that our production will run at the same time as the revival on Broadway. It really serves our mission as a regional theatre now that Baltimore audiences will be able to experience this masterpiece right here in their own backyard."

Everyman's production is directed by Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi. Resident Company Members Deborah Hazlett and Clinton Brandhagen portray the iconic roles of Amanda Wingfield and son, Tom. Joining Ms. Hazlett and Mr. Brandhagen on stage will be two actors familiar to Everyman audiences - Matthew Schleigh will portray the gentleman caller, Jim, and Sophie Hinderberger will play the fragile Laura.

Since its founding in 1990, Everyman Theatre has been dedicated to celebrating the local, professional actor and artist. The company features a Resident Company of eleven actors and eight artists.

"I want our actors to be able to stay in the Baltimore area and not have to move to New York or LA," said Vincent Lancisi. "It's important to me that they not only have the opportunity to grow and work steadily as artists and performers in their hometown, but that they are also able to be with their family, go to PTA meetings, and have a so-called 'normal' life."

The Glass Menagerie has been extended for an additional week of performances and runs from September 4th through October 6th, offering performances Wednesday through Sunday, with selected Tuesday evening performances.

Everyman Theatre is proud to partner with The Jewish Times as the Media Sponsor of The Glass Menagerie. WYPR 88.1-FM is the Season Media Sponsor.

Everyman Theatre is a professional Equity theatre company celebrating the actor, with the resident company of artists from the Baltimore/DC area. Founded in 1990 by Vincent Lancisi, the theatre is dedicated to engaging the audience through a shared experience between actor and audience seeking connection and emotional truth in performance. Everyman is dedicated to presenting high quality plays that are affordable and accessible to everyone.

Vincent Lancisi is the Artistic Director of Everyman Theatre; Ian Tresselt is the Managing Director.
