The Strand Theater is a community theater dedicated to providing opportunities for women artists, writers, designers and directors. With a focus on producing original works, the Strand hopes to foster a love of theater for a new generation of patrons.

Rhapsody, a single free spirited African American artist, has inherited three ultra-conservatively-raisEd White kids. How will she maintain her identity while helping them discover theirs? Rhapsody will need the love and devotion of her boyfriend and the honesty and no-holds-barred advice from her girlfriends. Enter the children's aunt, Mrs. Sterling...Archie Bunker is alive and well and wears pearls.

Friends and Neighbors Festival AUDITIONS!
Monday, May 10 at 6:30pm
The Strand Theater will be holding auditions for the 2010 Friends and Neighbors Festival: Works by Women sponsored by the Maryland State Arts Council on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 6:30pm.

The mission of the Friends and Neighbors Festival is to provide local playwrights with space to showcase new works, while offering patrons affordable theater. Audition appointments may be made by contacting Jayme Kilburn, Artistic Director. Appointments are encouraged but not necessary. Please prepare a one minute monologue. Actors may be asked to cold read.
