About the show: Glitter and Spew by Alison Luterman, World Premiere December 2-17, 2011

This three-ring-circus of short plays from our Friends & Neighbors Festival forms a meditation on media exposure, shame, and personal responsibility in 21st-century America. In A Night in Jail, a newly incarcerated starlet is shocked to discover that her guard can't be bribed and that her visitor is a deposed-and decapitated-French monarch. The bitter wife of a disgraced politician goes rogue, much to the dismay of her adult children, during an awkward satellite interview in The Toilet Stall. When the titular Freak tries some incognito pre-natal shopping, she can't quite avoid the advice of fellow shoppers or the judgment of the gay sperm donor who made it possible for her to become "Dodecamom."

The Strand Theater is located at 1823 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.  For further information, please visit: http://www.strand-theater.org/
