Spotlighters Theatre presents Peter Shaffer's Tony Award winning play EQUUS, opening tonight, April 5, 2013 at 8pm, and running through Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2pm. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm. Directed by Sherrionne Brown.
Peter Shaffer's acclaimed Equus, written in 1973, tells the story of a child psychiatrist's attempt to treat a seventeen year old boy who has blinded six horses in a violent fit of passion. The play's action is something of a detective story as the psychiatrist, delving into the boy's pathological religious and sexual fascination with horses, comes face to face with his own self doubt and sense of purpose.
