Spotlighters Theatre announces open registration for the 2010 YOUNG ACTORS ACADEMY. 
Program space is limited and early bird discounts end May 1st; so apply early!
 
 The Young Actors Academy began in 2005 as part of Spotlighters mission to provide theatre education and training to youth in the Baltimore metro area. 

The program has grown significantly over the past 5 years, lengthening the program and expanding the curriculum. 

Today the Academy offers a 5 week, 120 hour High School program providing High School youth a varied theatre intensive, and a 3 week, 40 hour Middle School program addressing the fundamentals of theatre. 

Youth from across the Baltimore metro area participate in the Academy, bringing a diversity of cultures and educational backgrounds. 

These youth become a cohesive ensemble working together and sharing in a positive performance experience.

Middle School Program
June 28 - July 15  –  Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur
9am - 1pm
9am - Check In / Warm-up
   (Morning snack provided)
9:30am - Basics of Theatre & Intro to Acting
11am - Lunch
   (Provided by Baltimore Summer Lunch Program)
11:30pm - Performance Rehearsal
1pm - Dismissal
 
High School Program
June 21 - July 22  – Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur
9am - 4pm

11am - Special Focus Workshop
12:30pm - Lunch

The Young Actors Academy will be performing an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s
A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream
at the 2010 Baltimore ArtScape (July 16, 17 & 18) and in a full performance at the end of the Summer program.
Details will be provided after the start of the program.
 
 
Dates & Tuition
Middle School Program (ages 9 to 13)
June 28 - July 15, 2010 (3 weeks) Tuition $375
High School Program
(ages 14 to 17)
June 21 - July 22, 2010 (5 weeks) Tuition $575
 

Scholarships are available for youth with strong community recommendations, and family financial hardships.
