In response to continued demand for tickets, Single Carrot Theatre will be extending the sold-out Promenade: Baltimore for three performances. The production, which is already the highest-grossing show in Single Carrot's ten-year history, has been praised by critics and audience members alike as innovative, immersive, and moving.
"The response from audiences has been overwhelming," said actor Meghan Stanton. "The creative team has poured so much heart and soul into this show; it's amazing to share it."
"This project is ambitious in so many ways," added Artistic Director Genevieve de Mahy, "but at its heart it has always been about community. Promenade: Baltimore wouldn't have been possible without the immense support - logistically and creatively - of neighborhood residents and friends. Baltimore City is as much a character in the show as any actor, and we are thrilled that so many community members want to see their city in this new way."
Additional Performance Dates:
Thursday, June 29 at 6:30pm
Sunday, July 2 at 2pm
Sunday, July 2 at 6:30pm
Grab your bus pass and get ready to ride! Single Carrot Theatre and Hungarian theatre company STEREO Akt present Promenade: Baltimore, a boundary-breaking production that invites its audience to board a bus and traverse the city, passing through neighborhoods both familiar and unknown. Audience members watch through the windows as actors on the street present poetic expressions of everyday life in Baltimore, complimented by a live-mixed soundscape of music, narration, and stories based on and told by neighborhood residents. Promenade: Baltimore celebrates and explores all that is Baltimore: highlighting its complexity, struggles, treasures, and, ultimately, its undeniable beauty. World premiere.
