Two of Baltimore's premiere experimental theatre groups will pool their talents to create an outrageous theatrical happening: Putin on Ice (that isn't the real title of this show) by Lola B. Pierson. Pierson, who penned Best of Baltimore winner Follow No Strangers to the Fun Places for Acme, will bring the her penchant for metaphor and abstraction to Single Carrot's stage for this joint artistic venture.

The collaboration will feature actors from both ensembles, under the leadership of internationally-acclaimed director & Acme company member Yury Urnov. Urnov and Pierson - who also teamed up in 2017 to adapt Anton Chekov's Three Sisters for Austin's Salvage Vanguard Theatre - will work alongside the joined ensembles to create a piece that is as dangerous and deeply chaotic as the atmosphere in which Putin himself thrives, with a dose of the darkly humorous. Audiences will confront questions about power, control, and performance in the waning days of America's love affair with The Truth.

About the Play: Putin on Ice (that isn't the real title of this show) Co-produced by The Acme Corporation & Single Carrot Theatre By Lola B. Pierson Directed by Yury Urnov Everything that happens on stage is a lie. Created in collaboration by The Acme Corporation and Single Carrot Theatre, this spectacle is a fantastical new portrait of Vladimir Putin.

This ostentatious piece blends counterfeit ancient texts, falsified scientific data, and manipulated video evidence to create something entirely new and thrillingly strange. Putin is elevated from man to myth, stretching through time to become more deity than dictator. You are free to leave at any time. World premiere.
