The Columbia based community theater, Silhouette Stages, is the first group in the Baltimore/Washington area to land the rights to Avenue Q. The show does have 'Explicit Lyrics' so those younger theater enthusiasts and their parents should be forewarned of its language and content.

Silhouette Stages says that "Although there have been some alterations to the original script, Avenue Q still has some punch and mature situations. Almost all the parts in the show are played by puppets. But this is not just your usual puppet show.

"This Howard County production is being co-directed by Mo Dutterer and Ric Ryder who successfully collaborated in last winter's production of Blood Brothers which Ryder starred in on Broadway. The musical direction is being handled by Baltimore's Michael Tan, and the choreography by Tina DeSimone who choreographs and stars at Toby's Dinner Theater both here in Columbia and their Baltimore location."

Avenue Q will be presented at Wilde Lake's Slayton House on March 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11.

The Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8:00 pm, and the two Sunday matinees begin at 3:00 pm. Tickets and directions to the theater can be obtained by going to the Silhouette Stages website, www.silhouettestages.com and clicking the Seat Yourself tab.

Tickets are priced at $18 for adults, and $15 for seniors and students. Alternately you can call 410-637-5289 to reserve your tickets and pay at the door. For more information go to the Silhouette Stages website. Although tickets may be available at the door, purchasing tickets online or calling for reservations are suggested for this show.
