Registration has begun for Howard County Arts Council's (HCAC) spring educational programs at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City. HCAC offers classes and workshops for lifelong learners from Pre-K through adult. Classes typically range in duration from six to eight weeks. Spring arts programs, open to the public, begin April 15.
Spring classes for children include Saturday Art Studio for ages 5-12, and The Graphic Novel: Cartooning for Young People for ages 10 & up. Class offerings for ages 14 to adult include Fundamentals of Portrait Painting; Impasto: Texture and the Figure; Intro to Color Theory for Oil Painters; and Drawing & Composition. A one-day Found Objects Mandala & Meditation Workshop for ages 16 to adult will be offered as well. Weekly drop-in sessions for drawing and painting from portrait and life models are also available.

Class brochures are available for pick-up at the Howard County Center for the Arts; requests for a brochure via the mail should be directed to 410-313-ARTS (2787). Howard County Arts Council programs are subject to minimum and maximum numbers of students; early registration is recommended.
