Based on the cult classic film series starring Bruce Campbell, Evil Dead follows five college students on a weekend trip to an abandoned cabin in the woods. After accidentally unleashing a flesh-eating force, the musical takes several comedic twists and turns. Adapted for stage from from Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" film series, Evil Dead: The Musical weaves together plot lines and characters from the three original films. With music by Christopher Bond, Frank Cipolla, Melissa Morris, and George Reinblatt, the musical was originally adapted for a musical theatre class at Queen's University in Ontario. The musical played Off-Broadway at New World Stages from November 1, 2006 to February 17, 2007. Following Evil Dead: the Musical, Red Branch will conclude its 2016 season with Harry Connick, Jr.'s The Happy Elf.
