The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre launched its Children Theatre in 1996. Since then, no show has ever been as popular as the smash hit Pinkalicious - The Musical. When the fun, family friendly first appeared on the Children's Theatre stage, it was to open the 2012 Season. The production quickly sold out. When the run was briefly expanded, those performances also sold out. Beginning tonight, September 14, Pinkalicious will return to the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway, back by overwhelming demand!

Pinkalicious - The Musical, which will run from tonight, September 14 - November 2, 2013, is the tale, based on the popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, of Pinkalicious, who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament.

Way Off Broadway has always been at the forefront of family entertainment offering musical stage adaptations of popular fairytales and children's stories. From Rapunzel to the Aladdin, Cinderella to Jack and his beanstalk, some of the most famous storybook characters have come to life on the Way Off Broadway stage.

Recognizing the change in interests and wanting to continue to be a leader in entertaining children and introducing them to Live Theatre, starting in 2011, Way Off Broadway began to make some changes to its Children's Theatre programming. The 2011 Children's theatre Season opened with Disney's 101 Dalmatians, the first Disney show to be presented at the theatre. That was followed in the fall by the sold out run of Dora the Explorer Live! Dora's Pirate Adventure. Both were regional premieres and both filled the theatre for each performance. The 2013 Season opened with Disney's Aladdin followed by Disney's Cinderella.

Returning to reprise their roles from Way Off Broadway's first production are Jessica Billones and Bill Kiska as Mrs. and Mr. Pinkerton, Pinkalicious' parents, and Jordan B. Stocksdale as Dr. Wink. New to the cast will be Zane L. Oberholzer, Jr. playing Pinkalicious' brother, Peter, and Megan West as Alison, Pinkalicious' best friend. Taking on the lead role of the cupcake-loving pinkster herself for the run will be Chelsea Bondarenko who made her Children's Theatre debut as Clara last Christmas in Clara & the Nutcracker Prince.

Pinkalicious - The Musical has music by John Gregor, lyrics by John Gregor, Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann, and a book by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann. Way Off Broadway's production is being staged and directed by the theatre's Creative Director, Jordan B. Stocksdale.

"We have never seen as show as popular as this," says Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer. "Everyone loved the show so much the first time, and so many people didn't have a chance to see it, we knew we had to bring it back as soon as possible."

Not only has the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway become a popular entertainment destination for families looking for a fun weekend activity, it has also become a great spot for birthday parties and school trips during the week.
