Olney Theatre Center announces that Martin Platt is no longer serving as the Artistic Director of the Theatre.  An Artistic Director search will begin immediately and Olney Theatre Center plans to fill this position by early 2013. In the interim, Alan Wade will be serving as our Artistic Director.

Olney Theatre Center has been pleased to have Mr. Platt serve as Artistic Director. Mr. Platt has accomplished much in his short tenure with our Theatre and we wish him well in his new endeavors.  We are especially proud to present the exciting 2013 season that has been programmed.

Mr. Wade began his association with Olney Theatre Center as a member of Olney Theatre Center’s National Players touring company. Mr. Wade recently directed a production of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men at Olney Theatre Center. In addition to directing nine National Players company tours,  he has appeared in many Olney Theatre Center productions, most recentlyFarragut North and Witness for the Prosecution.

Mr. Wade is a member of the Board of Directors of Olney Theatre Center and serves on the advisory boards of The Washington Stage Guild and The Potomac Theatre Project.
