Just when you thought it was safe to return to the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) for a weekly dose of free comedy at The Last Hurrah, the team returns for one last stab at a real horror show. On Nov 2nd at 7pm The Last Hurrah goes metal as host Kevin Cole sits down with Landless Theatre's Artistic Director and Sweeney Todd himself, Andrew Baughman, and the creative team behind their production A Prog Metal Sweeney Todd, Melissa Baughman (Director), and Ray Shaw (Bassist/arranger) to discuss what it takes to put a hard rock spin on a Sondheim classic.
The Last Hurrah is produced by MET Company Member Kevin Cole. The Last Hurrah is an original weekly comedy show that takes place in the MET's Frank Greene Theatre (Stage 2). It offers audiences one final hurrah before returning to their 9 to 5 jobs on Monday, and offers performers a chance to work out fresh material. Each episode is recorded and released as a podcast the following day.
Maryland Ensemble Theatre will present The Last Hurrah as part of its MET-X series, created to expand the collective horizons of the MET ensemble and its audience. Performances take place on Sundays at 7 p.m. at Maryland Ensemble Theatre (31 W Patrick St., Frederick) located in the historic FSK Hotel. The Last Hurrah is a free event and all are welcome to attend.
