Nellie Darling and the Legend of Nasty is a Fun Company world premiere that we are very excited to bring to our family audiences. Nellie Darling and the Legend of Nasty is a time traveler fantasy set in a small Hertfordshire village and focuses on a group of five teenagers who are inadvertently transported from 2011 to somewhere between 1841 and 1904. The shows director and The Fun Company Artistic Director Julie Herber said, "After presenting mainly shows for younger audiences, we wanted to reach out to the tween and teen audience and give them an exciting theatre experience. While thinking about creating this type of show I was approached by Lee, who worked as an actor with The Fun Company when he was in the states. After taking a look at the three books he had published, I was drawn to the challenges of bringing the story of Nellie Darling to life on stage. The idea of a female heroine and the strong message of camaraderie and friendship that the book delivers was exhilarating!. Lee Wilkinson, who currently resides in the UK, graduated from The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC and received his MA from the RADA/Kings College in London. In Nellie Darling and the Legend of Nasty Julie Herber directs a fantastic cast featuring seasoned actors Gene Fouche, Jason Hoffman and Laura Stark. They will be sharing the stage with Ensemble School students Karli Cole, Katie Dalimore, Dustin Harris and Sarah DeLeonibus, who appeared in MET's seasonal favorite, A Christmas Carol. Newcomer Kevin Bilder, from Walkersville High School, rounds out the cast.Videos
