The Recipients of Howard County Arts Council's 2009 Arts Scholarship Program were announced at the Arts Council's 12th Annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County.
Michelle Patschke, Visual Art, a senior at Reservoir High School; Natalie Scimonelli, Vocal Music, a senior at Oakland Mills High School; Eve Mobley, Visual Art, a senior at Glenelg High School; and Megan Clark, Visual Art, a senior at Glenelg High School. Scholarship funds are sent directly to the registrar or bursar's office at the university of the recipient's choice. Scholarships must be used for enrollment in an accredited college program for a degree in the arts. Each applicant was reviewed based on the following criteria as demonstrated in work samples and other application materials submitted: artistic merit, demonstrated understanding of artistic discipline, ability of the student to articulate artistic concepts and influences, commitment to a career in the arts, and a successful record in an academic setting.Videos
