Opening remarks by Arts Council President Buzz Barlett will be followed by the presentation of grant awards by Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman. Local and state public officials as well as leaders in the arts community will be on hand to recognize and celebrate Howard County's commitment to the arts.
In addition to the presentation of FY2017 Howard County Arts Council grant awards, the evening will feature a reception for two new exhibits, The Value of Three and Ceramics: Trisha Kyner & Christina McCleary. The Center for the Arts' resident artists will also open their studios to visitors from 7-8 p.m.
The evening is also an opportunity to view our Paint It! Ellicott City 2016 exhibit, extended through September 30 as a fundraiser in support of artists impacted by the devastating flood in Ellicott City. The Arts Council's commission on sales resulting from this exhibit will be donated to the Re-create: Ellicott City Artist Relief Fund, established by HCAC to assist Ellicott City artists in their recovery from the disaster. Many of the artists are also donating a portion of their sales.
