Ron Legler, President of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, home of the Hippodrome Theatre, has announced the lineup for the new 2019/20 CareFirst® BlueCross BlueShield Hippodrome Broadway Series. The season is anchored by the 2017 and 2018 Tony Award®-winners for "Best Musical" DEAR EVAN HANSEN and THE BAND'S VISIT. Several classic fan favorites will return including season options WICKED and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, as well as CATS and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.

The season kicks off with the return of Cameron Mackintosh's breathtaking new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Season Option), followed by the Baltimore premiere of Disney's ALADDIN. Ringing in the holiday season is the 50th Anniversary tour of timeless global phenomenon JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Broadway's iconic smash hit musicals CATS and WICKED (Season Option) will usher in 2020, followed by 10-time Tony-Award®-winning "Best Musical" THE BAND'S VISIT. The Hippodrome will heat up in April with SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical direct from Broadway, followed by six-time Tony® and Grammy Award®-winning musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN. The celebrated new production of the classic MISS SAIGON will close out the 2019/20 season, while making its debut in Maryland.

Current subscribers may renew their season subscription beginning today, January 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. EST. A limited number of new subscriptions will go on sale in late-March before single tickets become available to the general public.

"We're proud to announce that the 2019/20 season is packed with smash hit musicals, both classic and new Broadway productions, as well as several return engagements and Baltimore premieres," said Legler. "Coming off a record-breaking season for the Hippodrome, we are confident this lineup will continue the tradition of delivering top-quality shows to our dedicated subscribers and patrons."
