Forum Theatre presents a special engagement of Stephen Spotswood's We Tiresias ("Best Drama" at the 2012 Capital Fringe Festival) January 3 - 13, 2013. Shows are Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $15 for all performances. To purchase, visit www.forum-theatre.org or call the Round House box office at 240-644-1100.

Before he became the blind seer tasked with bearing other people's bad news, Tiresias lived an epic tale all his own. After an affair with Hera's priestess turns him into a fugitive, he thinks that he knows the meaning of tragedy. But when Hera catches him and transforms him into a woman, Tiresias discovers that he doesn't know the first thing about sacrifice. A reimagining of ancient myth, We Tiresias tells the story of one soul trying to escape the whims of the gods.

Cast includes William Aitken (Glengarry Glen Ross, Keegan Theatre; The Titans, The American Century Theatre), Melissa Hmelnicky (Juno and the Paycock, Washington Shakespeare Company; One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Keegan Theatre), and Chris Stinson (A Clockwork Orange, Scena Theatre; Parfumerie, 1st Stage).

"I've been fortunate enough to work with Forum on a number of projects over the last few years and, just this past year, have the pleasure of being included in their ensemble of artist." says playwright, Stephen Spotswood, " Even before We Tiresias won Best Drama at Fringe, Michael [Dove] had approached me about giving the play an extended life. Happily it fits with Forum's aesthetic - tackling big questions within the confines of very focused, human stories."

"This is our third season in a row where we've been able to bring in a production that had a start elsewhere and offer resources to help give it a further life and further development." says Michael Dove, Artistic Director of Forum Theatre, "Steve recently joined Forum as an ensemble member so I'm thrilled that we can get his writing on our stage so quickly. I think he's one of the most exciting playwrights in town."
