Returning for its third season and bubbling over with playful pizazz, Taste of Everyman is Everyman Theatre's artful pre-show food and drink experience that combines smarts and samples from some of the hottest talent in Baltimore's dine and drink scene. Each event's tasting menu includes expert knowledge and sample-sized pairings designed (cheekily) to complement a different play in Everyman's 2017/18 Season.

Each tasting begins at 6:00 PM in the 2nd Floor Lobby at Everyman Theatre (315 W. Fayette St., Baltimore, MD 21201) preceding the 7:30 PM main stage performance.

"Baltimore is home to so many extraordinarily gifted food and beverage experts who we are thrilled to be partnering with as part of this season's Taste of Everyman," said Everyman Theatre Managing Director Jonathan K. Waller. "During a season of theatre that is already ripe with international flavor, Taste of Everyman provides an evening that is stimulating, entertaining and nourishing from beginning to end - bolstered with the phenomenal tastes, trends, and talent of our local bar and restaurant community."

The series kicks off on Thursday, September 14, 2017, with Edible Insects - a coy reference to Everyman's M. Butterfly (September 6 - October 8). Attendees are encouraged to tamper their knee-jerk "ugh!" with "ooh's" and "ahhhh's," during an unforgettable taste-and-tell social hour about bugs. Learn about the practical, nutritional and environmental benefits of breeding and eating crispy critters from Eric Kelly of Charm City Farms, join the staff of MOM's Organic Market for samples of sustainable protein products, and enjoy delectable cocktail concoctions from the staff of Clavel - featuring insects as the secret ingredient!

Next, on Thursday, October 26, 2017, is Classified Cravings - in the secret-keeping spirit of Intimate Apparel (October 18 - November 19). Hush-hush hankerings? Top-secret tastes? For even the "foodiest" foodies among us, keeping our favorites quiet is par for the course. Join one of Baltimore's most knowledgeable and passionate food and drink insiders, Amy Langrehr (aka Charm City Cook) for an "off the record" dish on some of the city's most-loved dishes - including some well known and others still a little bit under the radar. Featured restaurants include Dylan's Oyster Cellar, Ekiben, and more - all paired with some of the best local craft beers!

Then, to round out the calendar year, on Thursday, December 14, 2017, Everyman presents a Battle of the Female Bartenders - paired with The Revolutionists (December 6 - January 7). Exercise your right to drink - and vote - as we taste dynamite drinks from three of Baltimore's best female bartenders at this pre-show event sponsored by Baltimore STYLE magazine. Hear holiday party bartending tips from pros like Chelsea Gregoire (Ida B's Table), Pam Haner (W.C. Harlan) and Amie Ward (R. Bar), then pick the audience favorite among three creative concoctions! (The winning mixologist receives a complimentary 4-play subscription, and other special prizes.) As for the nosh, like Marie Antoinette says: "Let them eat cake!" - try a guillotine-sliced helping of tonight's sweet and savory cake bites.

Taste of Everyman partners and pairings for 2018 will be announced later in the season.

Tickets for Taste of Everyman ($60) include admission to the 6:00 PM tasting event and the 7:30 PM performance that follows. Tickets are available online (everymantheatre.org) by phone (410.752.2208) or at the theatre box office (315 W. Fayette Street, Baltimore, MD 21201).
