Everyman Theatre opens up their 20th Anniversary season with their magical, fantastical, production of Shipwrecked! An Entertainment. The Amazing Adventures of Louis De Rougemont (As Told By Himself). From the brilliant mind of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies comes this rip-roaring tale of high-seas adventures, complete with giant sea turtles, flying wombats, a man eating octopus and Queen Victoria herself.

Everyman company members Clinton Brandhagen and Bruce R. Nelson are back on stage together after their runaway success in the smash hit The Mystery of Irma Vep. Their electric chemistry will once again be on display as Shipwrecked! takes the audience on a mad cap voyage. Also joining them on stage is Everyman newcomer Tuyet Thi Pham who is a mainstay at some of the best Washington DC theatres.

The halls of Everyman have been taken over by puppet masters, movement specialists, and tumbling experts all brought together to help our cast bring to life the adventures of Louis De Rougemont. Based on a true story Shipwrecked! is Everyman's first show appropriate for younger audiences as well and tells the story of a lonesome man in Victorian England who seeks and finds adventure. He returns home as a folk hero but audiences are left to wonder- is all truly as it seems?

Everyman Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi said: "We are so thrilled to open this landmark season with Shipwrecked! This is a show that fully celebrates both the magic of theatre and all that we have accomplished here at Everyman. Everything from the expertly crafted set to the live folley the actors use on stage represents a part of the journey we have taken. It is Everyman at its best."

Shipwrecked! runs September 24 through October 24, offering performances Wednesday through Sunday.
