Everyman Theatre has announced that on Monday, August 31st at 1:00PM, actors, family members, friends and audience members will gather at the theatre to celebrate the life of Resident Dramaturg Naomi Greenberg-Slovin, who passed away at her home in Edenwald Retirement Community on Wednesday, August 19th.

Greenberg-Slovin was Everyman's Resident dramaturg for over a decade. She researched plays and playwrights to provide insight into the material for directors, actors, designers and audience members. She actively researched and wrote for the theatre up until two months prior to her death.

Naomi's sister was Resident Company Member and Baltimore stage legend Vivienne Shub, who passed away last fall. The two sisters wrote and performed many original works together, perhaps most memorably being The Cone Sister. This one-woman show performed by Vivienne debuted at Everyman in 2006 and was a smash-hit, extending its run multiple times. Several years later, Naomi wrote Viva la Vivienne!, a one-woman show celebrating the 90th birthday of her sister.

Greenberg-Slovin died from advanced pancreatic cancer. She is survived by two sons, two daughters, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

"As soon as I met Naomi, I recognized what a powerhouse she could be for the theater," said Everyman's Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi. "I'm constantly surprised by the number of people she touched, just through her notes and articles. She will be so missed."

The public is invited to join the family for a memorial and celebration of Naomi's life on Monday, August 31st.
