Everyman Theatre presents Fifty Words, making its Baltimore Premiere.

While their nine year old son Greg is away for the night on his first sleepover, Adam and Jan have an evening alone together- their first in years. What follows is a suspenseful, nightlong roller-coaster ride of passion and revelation.

Michael Weller pries open the door of a New York City Brownstone so that we may glimpse into a modern day marriage on the brink. How do relationships survive in the face of adversity? How do we maintain control of our lives? Of our family?

Fifty Words brings together long time company members Clinton Brandhagen fresh off his Broadway turn in Master Class and Megan Anderson last seen on the Everyman stage in All My Sons. Director, Donald Hicken returns to Everyman where he has directed I Am My Own Wife, Our Town, and Shooting Star among others. Set Designer, Timothy Mackabee, makes his Everyman debut. He was the Associate Designer for Fela! on Broadway and his work has also been seen at Studio Theatre, Yale Rep, North Shore Music Theatre and Philadelphia Theatre Company. In addition, Mr. Macabee went to Carver Center for the Arts & Technology and returns to his hometown to design the set for Fifty Words.

“Fifty Words is a hard hitting, deeply human story about how relationships survive,” said Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi. “This is a serious play for seasoned artists and audience members. In addition, it is the perfect show to highlight our resident company members Clinton and Megan. Their years of acting together serve as the perfect training ground for portraying a couple with such a conflicted and intricate history.”

Fifty Words runs January 18 through February 19 offering performances Wednesday through Sunday. Everyman Theatre is a professional Equity theatre company with a resident ensemble of artists from the Baltimore/DC area dedicated to presenting high quality plays that are affordable and accessible to everyone.
