Everyman Theatre and Stoop Storytelling will partner to present "The Show Must Go On!," an entertaining evening of hilarious-but-true stories of the unexpected pitfalls and pratfalls of live performance - inspired by the theatre's upcoming production of Noises Off. The Show Must Go On! takes place live on the Everyman Theatre stage, on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 7:30pm. The ticketed event ($20) will be preceded by live music entertainment and happy hour in the theatre's lobby bar, beginning at 6:00pm.
"There are no such things as 'outtakes' in live theatre," said Noises Off director and Everyman Theatre Founding Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi. "Anything can happen. Hence, many performers are harboring a treasure trove of on- and off-stage stories of unexpected things gone awry. It's a treat to partner with Stoop Storytelling in assembling this uproarious evening of behind-the-scenes hilarity, just waiting to be shared!"
"We are looking for spirited and authentic submissions from actors, singers, magicians, jugglers - performers of all kinds," says Stoop Storytelling host, producer, and co-founder Jessica Henkin, who will be emceeing the show alongside her husband, WYPR's Aaron Henkin. "It's going to be a lot of fun seeing and hearing these stories on the Everyman Theatre stage, on the set from Noises Off."
