A new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde opens February 28 at the Vagabond Theatre and runs through March 30. Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, and directed by John W. Ford, this is a smart, sexy, tense and suspenseful new take on Stevenson's look at the evil that lurks in the hearts of men--it is definitely not your grandfather's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Hatcher's direct first-person narrative doesn't focus on the fantastical, but on the human and on the cost of not only isolating and distilling our basest urges--revenge, lust, dominance, survival--but of un-stoppering the vial.
This Vagabond Players production features an excellent cast of veteran actors: Gregory Guyton, Tom Moore, Michael Panzarottto, Thom Peters, Tiffany Spaulding, and Michael Styer. Be prepared for a very different characterization of Hyde as this intimate play engages and enthralls the audience.
Located at 806 S. Broadway, the Vagabond Theatre is easily accessible to patrons.
Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8:00; Sunday at 2:00
