The Skeptics In A World Of Their Own
Doc screening & live performance!
The Skeptics formed on Groundhog Day in 1984, in Frederick, MD. For six years, the band played a blend of garage, surf, punk, Appalachian, and psychedelic music for a small but devoted fan base, opening for bands like The Slickee Boys, Velvet Monkeys, and Half Japanese. This doc weaves interviews, archival footage, antics and live performances. Tonight the band reunites for a rare live set following the film. Dir. Keith Chester, 2010, 71 min. 7pm. $8, $6mbrs.

Midnight movie impresario Peaches Christ (Joshua Grannell), returns to his home state of MD to premiere his film directorial debut: All About Evil. This twisted black comedy features Natasha Lyonne, Thomas Dekker, Noah Segan, cult icon Mink Stole, and Cassandra Peterson (known better as Elvira!) Are the slasher films shown at the Victoria Theatre harmless DIY gore or....more?! Mink intros and Peaches performs before the screening! Q & A with Mink and Peaches after. 8pm. $15, $13 mbrs.

Inspired by the Namib Desert, Zimmer the Sandman explores preservation, threatened heritage, and our environment. This short animation is a prologue for a dance performance that will take place in Namibia, Africa, and is part of a collaborative project called The Dream of the Sand People. Trentinella was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and her work is in the Permanent Collections of the Library of Congress, and Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts, Kiyosato, Japan.
