Based on an Oscar-nominated film, Disney's Mulan, Jr. is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and the fighting spirit that brings ancient China to life with a modern sensibility. The plot is simple. After, the Huns invade, misfit Mulan and her mischievous dragon sidekick, Mushu, must save the Emperor! Mulan disguises herself as a boy and takes up arms in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. As the great battle approaches, Mulan must choose between revealing her true identity as a girl and saving all of China with her clever plan.

This year, a special sensory-friendly performance for families with children with autism or other sensory sensitivities will be given at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15. Tickets for this special limited-seating performance are $10 each and are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-2787 (ARTS).

Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to families with children with autism or other sensory sensitivities. Accommodations for this performance include:

· Shortened running time

· Lower sound levels

· Designated quiet area within the theatre

· Lights will remain on in the theatre during the entire performance

· Talking, making sounds and standing will be allowed during the performance

· Special areas outside of the theatre will be available for breaks

· Option to enter the theatre and see your seats prior to the performance.

"Theatre should be enjoyed by everyone, so Cockpit strives to be inclusive with community members who would otherwise not feel comfortable in a traditional theatre setting," notes James Hunnicutt, Artistic Director, Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre. "By limiting the size of the audience for this performance, it will allow for more space between the seats, another attractive accommodation for those with autism or special sensory needs. "
