Conductor Jordan Randall Smith has recently been appointed to two new posts in the Baltimore area. Beginning April 2, Smith leads the choir, children's choir, and orchestra at Hunt's Church in Towson and will co-direct the church's new digital media department. In his blog, Jordan wrote, "I am delighted to join the the staff of this special group of people as we look ahead to a range of new initiatives to expand our musical footprint and community impact."
Jordan will also be joining the staff of the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra (Jed Gaylin, Music Director) beginning with HSO's 2018-2019 season. In a message to the orchestra, HSO General Manager Nicoleen Willson wrote: "We are pleased to announce that
Jordan Randall Smith will begin his tenure as HCO conductor and HSO assistant conductor next season. On behalf of myself, Jed, and all musicians in our organization, I know we all look forward to working with Jordan." Smith will make his HCO debut on September 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
Smith will continue to lead
Symphony Number One as Music Director, a professional chamber orchestra he founded in 2015 which has released four commercial recordings to critical acclaim. SNO's next project is a collaboration at Morgan State University titled
Reality, Race, and Religion on May 9th at 7:00 PM.

Jordan Randall Smith was named a 2016 Baltimore Social Innovation Fellow for his work with Symphony Number One and was the recipient of a Bruno Walter Fellowship at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music where he studied with
Marin Alsop,
Gustav Meier, and Jennifer Higdon. A Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Conducting at the Peabody Conservatory, Jordan has a discography spanning six commercial releases and a history of commissions, leading over 40 world premieres. Conductor
