Cohesion Theatre, a new company dedicated to collaboration and immersive experiences, and Iron Crow Theatre, Baltimore's only professional queer theatre, are proud to bring you The Trans* Voices Workshop Series. This series is a season-long endeavor to increase trans* visibility and open discussion about trans* issues.
The first weekend will present Shakespeare's Trans* Comedy in the 21st Century, taking place in Illyria, Shakespeare's setting for this comedy of mistaken identities and shipwrecked loves. Here we find that even more than 413 years after its premiere as entertainment during the mid-winter feast, Shakespeare is still breaking barriers with the gender-bending ideas inherent in his text. We grab hold of those ideas and take them all the way to their Transgender loving conclusions.
This gender-bending TWELFTH NIGHT will open January 8 (7 p.m.) and runs through January 10 (at 4 p.m.) at Church on the Square.
Featuring Logan Davidson as Viola/Sebastion, Jane Jongeward as Duke Orsino, Lillian Oben as Olivia, Alice Stanley as Feste, Nick Delaney as Maria, Matthew Payne as Sir Toby Belch, Caitlin Carbone as Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Melanie Glickman as Malvolio, Dana Woodson as Antonio and Danielle Vitullo as Curio/Police Officer/Ensemble.
