Cohesion Theatre Company Announces Pirate Macbeth Fundraising Event

Cohesion Theatre Company is excited to announce the closing of their Fourth Season with Pirate Macbeth: A Fundraising Event on Saturday, August 18, 2018. As a continuation of their mid-season fundraising competition where staff and board members selected show ideas and raised funds to see them produced, Pirate Macbeth will be adapted for a one-evening only staged reading by competition winner, and Cohesion Advisory Board Member, Jeff Miller. Combining all the murder, mayhem, and mystical intrigue of Shakespeare's tale of ambition gone wrong, with all the swashbuckling, treasure hunting, and rum soaked high-seas adventure of classic pirate tales, Pirate Macbeth promises to be a journey you won't want to miss.

The evening will include food from local merchants and restaurants, drinks from local brewers and distillers, live music, dancing, raffles and silent auction items from local businesses and theatre companies, and of course the centerpiece of the evening: Pirate Macbeth! The evening begins at 7pm on Saturday, August 18th with a cocktail hour in the Pirate-themed Fallout Shelter at 923 S. East Avenue. Guests are encouraged to come in their best pirate or sea creature themed regalia while they enjoy some frozen specialty cocktails like the "Keel-Haul": flavored Italian Ice mixed with rum. About 8pm, the performance of Pirate Macbeth will begin, as the audience is immersed into the high seas world of Scottish conflicts for the crown, and a mysterious group of sirens and sea creatures who twist the fate of the noble Thane. We'll see who makes it out with their heads intact, and who is forced to walk the plank and face the deep crushing abyss of Davey Jones' Locker! After the show, guests are invited to stay as the party kicks in to high gear with dancing and late night pirate shenanigans to celebrate the close of Season 4 at Cohesion Theatre Company!

All proceeds from the evening benefit the artistic programing of Cohesion Theatre Company, and help to give the 2018/19 Season an early boost. A limited number of basic ticket packages for the evening start at just $20! Regular admission, which includes food, music, performance, dancing, and more starts at $40. Drinks, including beer, wine, soda, and specialty themed cocktails, will be available at a cash bar at the event. Special supporter ticket packages which include drink and raffle tickets start at $50.

All guests are encouraged to come in their best pirate or sea creature themed regalia!

Cohesion performs in "The Fallout Shelter" at United Evangelical Church (923 S. East Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224) at the corner of East Avenue and Dillon Street in Canton.
