Cockpit in Court Presents LAURA, 7/27-8/5

When Lt. Detective Mark McPherson is assigned to investigate a murder he hardly expects to find himself falling in love with the beautiful victim. Yet Laura's portrait, her home, her personal effects offer him tantalizing clues about the reality of this mysterious woman. Why was she murdered? Who had motive – her mentor, her best friend, her lover? Why was he so captivated by her? To unravel the mystery, come to the Cockpit in Court production of "Laura," based on a novel by Vera Caspary, with play by Caspary and George Sklar.

Performances will be held 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays, July 27 through August 5 in the Cabaret at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. Tickets - $16 for adults and $14 for seniors (60+) – are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787) or online HERE.

The ensemble cast features Melissa O'Brien of Baltimore, Md. as the girl, Greg Guyton of Phoenix, Md. as Marc, Phil Gallagher of Monkton, Md. as Waldo, Jeb Beard of Littlestown, Pa. as Shelby, Janise Whelan of Baltimore, Md. as Mrs. Dorgan, Joan Crooks of Westminster, Md. as Bessie, Dennis Binseel of Clarksville, Md. as Danny, and Eric Tan of Baltimore, Md. as Chen.

Cockpit's production and technical staff for "Laura" includes: Sherrionne Brown of Cockeysville, Md. – Director, Set and Sound Design; G. Maurice "Moe" Conn of Catonsville, Md. and Kate Gage of Laurel, Md.–Technical Directors; James J. Fasching of Essex, Md. – Costume Designer; Michael Rasinski of Perry Hall – Lighting Designer, and Patricia Sarah Geiger of Parkville, Md. – Light Board/Sound Operator and Stage Manager.

James Hunnicutt of Perry Hall, Md. serves as Cockpit's Artistic Director and Lisa Boeren of Rosedale, Md. as the Administrative Manager.
