The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc., in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, presents Neil Simon's comedy THE ODD COUPLE using male and female versions which will be presented on alternating dates. Each cast features eight student actors from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County.
Both versions of THE ODD COUPLE have the same plot: A compulsive neat-freak moves in with a slovenly friend during a period of emotional stress. This mismatch is a source of hilarious comic situations, involving a circle of kooky acquaintances and neighbors. Many play-goers will be familiar with the television series and movie based on the play.
In the male version, Zach Miller of Baltimore as Oscar and Matt Demetrides of Baltimore as Felix have the lead roles. Other players are Josh Schoff of Dundalk (Murray), Philip Merrick of Baltimore (Roy), Alex Munk of Lansdowne (Speed), Will Foohey of Pikesville (Vinnie), Emily Wheeler of Bel Air (Cecily) and Maddie Ulevich of Phoenix, Md. (Gwendolyn). Liz Boyer Hunnicutt directs the male version. THE ODD COUPLE male version will be performed October 27th, November 4th, and November 10th.
The leads in the female version are Jennifer Kneebone of Towson (Olive) and Zoe Feldman of Baltimore (Florence). Erin Sullivan of Bel Air (Vera), Caroline Halligan of Towson (Sylvia), Tiffany Flaharty of Abingdon (Renee). Eva Hellerbach of Baltimore (Mickey), Joey Bird of Phoenix (Manolo) and Charlie Holt of Kingsville (Jesus) round out the cast. Diane Smith directs the female version. The female version will be presented October 28th, November 3rd and November 11th.
