Center Stage opens the fifth show in its current season with William Shakespeare's beloved romantic adventure, Twelfth Night, on Wednesday, March 12. Twins Viola and Sebastian, separated in a shipwreck, find themselves washed ashore in a beautiful but mysterious land. Revelry, disguises, swashbuckling, and pining lovers abound as our cast of characters are caught in a maze of mistaken identity, intrigue, and mismatched ardor. Center Stage Associate Artistic Director Gavin Witt takes audiences on a journey into the exotic and glamorous world of Illyria with Twelfth Night, running through April 6.
Wednesday, March 12, will also mark the announcement of Center Stage's 2014/15 Season with a special pre-show presentation from Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah. The announcement will take place just before the Opening Night performance in The Pearlstone Theater, and audiences will be introduced to 2014/15, before stepping into the world of Illyria.
Opening Night guests are also invited to join the staff, cast, and artistic team for a post-show opening celebration, featuring music from folkstress Letitia VanSant and the Bonafides and food from the Classic Catering People. Letitia VanSant is known for her poignant songwriting and bold, Americana sound.
Twelfth Night runs through April 6. Tickets start at $19 and can be purchased by calling 410.332.0033, or visiting www.centerstage.org. Full information on the season can be found at www.centerstage.org/2013-14season.
