In August of 2002, Nick Gough, with support and encouragement from his wife, Barbara, saw the birth of The catonsville Children's Theatre. Nick had dreamed for years of a place where his love for theatre and working with children would be combined. Saturdays in the Barn, a 12-week workshop for elementary and middle school boys and girls gave him the opportunity to share his passion for the stage. Since those days when a cast of only 8 proudly displayed their talents to a full house, the company has grown considerably. Barb and Nick have since been joined by many talented individuals who have lent their talents to take the company to new and unexplored heights. We have since performed 12 shows as the culminating performance for the Saturdays in the Barn series, and have led young actors and actresses through a variety of workshop performances such as Monologapalooza and Organized Chaos. The catonsville Children's Theatre has also become a part of the community performing at St. Agnes Hospital, for Santa Clause's arrival in Catonsville, and appearing in Catonsville's annual 4th July Parade. We are proudly supported by the St. Agnes Foundation, and are members of the Baltimore Theatre Alliance.

The catonsville Children's Theatre is dedicated to providing opportunities for local children to explore and discover not only the wonders of the stage, but also of themselves. We strive to create and maintain an atmosphere that is challenging and exciting, yet safe and nurturing. Children who choose to become a part of this creative journey are given this opportunity to build the self esteem and self confidence that is such an essential element on the stage and in every facet of their lives.
