The Galleries at Community College of Baltimore County are inviting the public to view its latest exhibit, Becoming 2019, and meet the artists during February receptions. The Gallery at CCBC Catonsville will hold its reception 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 followed by the CCBC Essex reception 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8. Hosted by the CCBC Art, Design and Interactive Media department, the reception and exhibit are free and refreshments will be served.
"Becoming 2019" is a juried exhibition showcasing the best work created by CCBC art students enrolled in the Portfolio class. The Portfolio class is the capstone course for art students and is designed to help them create bodies of work for professional portfolios.
CCBC art student Zachary Greek says the overall experience has been remarkable.
"Being a part of the Portfolio class has been an adventure, with each assignment feeling like a hurdle to get over," said Greek. "This is where I've felt the most connected to a group of students and created great friendships as we have grown throughout the semester. I know that no matter where we end up transferring, we will continue to stay connected."
Student participating in the exhibition include the following:
