Baltimore SoundStage, a new performance space, will open at 124 Market Place in Baltimore's inner harbor on Labor Day weekend. The new venue is as collaboration between New York City's HighLine Ballroom and the management team responsible for opening Baltimore's Bourbon Street live music venue. The new room will present national touring artists in an intimate club environment. Some shows will be presented in the standard standing room only room configuration, but in a first for Baltimore, the room will at times present acts in a fully seated format as well. The club will be equipped with a large stage, state of the art Sound, Lights, and Video and will contain a fully operational kitchen in house to serve both fans and artists. The room will have a scalable capacity of 500 or 1000 for Standing Room shows and 500 for seated shows.

"We are very excited to continue our relationship with Bourbon Street management in collaborating on this new room," says Toffer Christensen of the HighLine Ballroom and talent buyer for SoundStage. "While giving the Baltimore music fans a beautiful new intimate space to check out their favorite acts, we are also going to be able to cultivate emerging acts by offering two different room capacities for acts at various stages in their touring careers."

"It was very important for us to make sure we could accommodate acts of all levels in the new club," says Sam Chaney of Bourbon Street. "To do so, we have created a curtaining system, inspired by the new arena systems, that can cut the room in half so that bands with smaller draws can sell out the club and their fans will experience the feeling of a sold out show."

A selection of confirmed upcoming shows include Milkman 9.3, Edwin McCain 9.7, Bilal 9.8, Slick Rick 9.10, Laid Back Luke 9.17, Stryper 9.20, the Psych Furs &Tom Tom Club 9.29, Parachute & Kate Vogelle Oct 11. Many additional shows to be announced soon at www.BaltimoreSoundStage.com
