Baltimore Center Stage is thrilled to announce the newly named Bernard Black Box, previously known as the Third Space, in honor of Ellen and Ed Bernard for their support to the Campaign for Center Stage and their support of new, adventurous theater at affordable ticket prices. In keeping with one of the pillars of our mission, Access for All, the Bernard Black Box will feature tickets priced at $25 or less for all performances.
"I couldn't be more thankful for this gift from Ed and Ellen, whose support of Baltimore Center Stage is beyond measure," said Michael Ross, Executive Director of Baltimore Center Stage. "This gift in particular helps us keep ticket prices low, which lets us reach new audiences and share innovative works in this intimate space."
A 99-seat third theater space, the Bernard Black Box was created during our renovation to provide a home for theater that is not typically seen on our main stages as well as readings, special events, and guest performances. Towards that goal we are pleased to announce that the first performance in the space under its new name is the thought-provoking, gripping play Wasted, for three special performances. Written by Kat Woods, Wasted comes to us from London, by way of New York, and is the tale of two friends facing the consequences of a night out partying with abandon. Wasted is an hour-long, completely original, theatrical experience. It will run from August 30-Sepatember 1, 2018 and tickets are on sale now.
For more information on the Bernard Black Box, Wasted, or other performances with the space, please go to www.centerstage.org or contact Robyn Murphy, Public Relations Manager.
