Adventure Presents ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY Opening February 9th ImageAdventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), recent recipient of three 2017 Helen Hayes Awards, brings to the stage the musical version of a day gone wrong in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, directed by Cara Gabriel. Based on the popular book by Judith Viorst, this production is recommended for all ages and opens February 9, 2018. Tickets are $19.50 each and can be purchased online at www.adventuretheatre-mtc.org or by calling 301-634-2270.

Alexander is having a bad day. A terrible day. A horrible day. To be quite honest, it's a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. But then, everybody has bad days, sometimes. Not only does Alexander wake up with gum in his hair, but his mother forgets to pack him dessert, and his best friend decides he's not his best friend anymore. And if that's not bad enough, Alexander's brothers don't have any cavities but-he does. And just when it can't get any worse, there are lima beans for supper and -yuck!-kissing on TV. It is enough to make anyone want to go to Australia. Uuuugggghhh.

A special book signing with Judith Viorst will be held on February 10 at 12:30pm open to both the 11am and the 2pm patrons who purchase a copy of the books, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day or one of its sequels: Alexander, Who's Not (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move, Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday, or Alexander, Who's Trying His Best to Be the Best Boy Ever at Adventure Theatre MTC's box office.

Adventure Theatre MTC's Artistic Director, Michael J. Bobbitt, says of the show, "Parents and kids love this show because it really showcases how hard children are challenged every day for the things we adults take for granted. Tying our shoes, brushing our teeth, waking up with hair that is gum-free. And when things go awry, it makes it even more difficult. And as a children's theatre, that's an important message for kids- we understand, and we think your voice is important."

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is recommended for all ages. Tickets are $19.50 each. Flexpass, group, and field trip rates are available. The press performance will be Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2pm. All performances will take place at Adventure Theatre MTC, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD, 20812 in the historic Glen Echo Park.
