"A Midsummer Nights Dream" contains some wonderfully lyrical expressions of lighter Shakespearean themes, most notably those of love, dreams, and the stuff of both, the creative imagination itself.
A magical forest, impish fairies and a host of some of Shakespeare's most comedic characters make "A Midsummer Nights Dream" one of his most popular plays-and a perfect introduction to theater. When lovers Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius cross with mischievous sprites in an enchanted forest, a series of mishaps occur and nothing is what it seems. Add to the mix a bevy of fumbling actors and all chaos breaks loose until dawn breaks and all is once again right with the world.
Reisterstown Theatre Project began in 2008. RTP is proud to be part of the Reisterstown Recreation Council of the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks. Your input and participation is always welcome! Its first season was 2008-2009 and included "Much Ado About Nothing" as Shakespeare in the park, "Inspecting Carol," and "Big River The Musical."
