MY LOST FREEDOM is George Takei’s story about his years growing up in those camps. It is about how his parents kept the family safe in their new “homes”—the Santa Anita racetrack, swampy Camp Rohwer, and desolate Tule Lake. Takei entered the camps at the age of five and would remain there until the conclusion of the war three years later, in 1945.

A family tradition, the two siblings will be joined by their immediate family as well other members of the Wainwright and McGarrigle clans. Emmylou Harris is a part of the tradition too. She has been a part of almost every Christmas show since its inception since she had a strong creative history with the Wainwrights’ mother, Kate McGarrigle.

The Head And The Heart have announced an intimate hometown show. Proceeds from the show will benefit the band’s Rivers and Roads Foundation, whose mission is to raise money for local Seattle-based music programs with an emphasis on equitable access to music education for youth, and mental health resources and support for musicians.

Portland, Oregon artist Jeffrey Martin recently announced the release of Thank God We Left the Garden, his first new full-length since 2017's One Go Around.
