Warner Bros. Pictures’ THE COLOR PURPLE movie musical will make its streaming debut on Max next week. Produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders, and Quincy Jones, the film is a bold new take on the classic story of love and resilience, adapted from the beloved novel and the Broadway musical.

Gregory Maguire – who wrote the 1995 novel that inspired the Broadway musical Wicked – is releasing a new prequel to the beloved story. While plot details for the upcoming 272-page installment are under wraps, Elphie: A Wicked Childhood will seemingly delve deeper into the childhood of the story's heroine, Elphaba.

Netflix has added the additions of five recurring cast members joining No Good Deed, creator and executive producer Liz Feldman’s upcoming dark comedy series. Previously announced cast includes Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Linda Cardellini, Luke Wilson, Teyonah Parris, O-T Fagbenle, Abbi Jacobson, Poppy Liu and Dennis Leary.

Judy Greer (White House Plumbers, The First Lady), Marc Menchaca (The Creator, Ozark), and Gaia Wise will join previously announced Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, Sense and Sensibility) in action-thriller The Fisherwoman. Brian Kirk (21 Bridges, JACKAL) is directing from a screenplay by Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb.

Disney+ announced that “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” which is the concert film in its entirety for the first time and includes the song “cardigan” and four additional acoustic songs, will make its streaming debut on Disney+.

A sequel to Moana will hit theaters this November. While Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote music for the first film, the sequel will feature music by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina. Dave Derrick Jr. is directing it. A live-action adaptation is also in the works.
