Nachtwacht De Poort Der Zielen is the first film made for the big screen after a succesful television series in The Netherlands and Belgium. Nachtwacht is about a supernatural trio (Vladimir, Wilko and Keelin) who all have magical powers and their magical tutor Vega. They live in a small village Schemermeer, which doubles as a portal with the underworld, where monsters appear in human form.

Charley, a new musical comedy by producer Pretpakhuis, opens its' show in an old-fashioned but lovely manner. Two well-dressed men (Jonathan Demoor as Anton and Job Bovelander as Lodewijk)in front of the curtain, introducing in song their friend Charley, the title role played by master of physical comedy Jon van Eerd.The duo Anton and Lodewijk are leading the story throughout the show and their hysterical chemistry is lovely to watch

Met nog twee weken te gaan tot de Europese premiere van de Londense West End versie van CATS in Amsterdam viert de musical een nieuwe mijlpaal. De vraag is zo groot dat er inmiddels al meer dan 60.000 kaarten zijn verkocht voor de Nederlandse tournee. Om deze reden besloot producent Frank van Paridon van Proud to Present al eerder om extra voorstellingen toe te voegen in de Kerstvakantie en op beide Kerstdagen. De musical CATS staat vanaf 20 december slechts drie weken in het RAI Theater in Amsterdam, aansluitend is de musical te zien in Rotterdam en rond Pasen in Breda en Groningen.

Het succes van de musical EVITA duurt voort. Producent De Graaf & Cornelissen Entertainment is verheugd bekend te maken dat er zes weken na de premiere in Koninklijk Theater CARRE al meer dan vijfenzeventigduizend mensen een kaartje voor de musical hebben gekocht. Deze hoge bezoekersaantallen en de sterrenregen die de musical bij de recensies kreeg leidt er nu toe dat er weer extra voorstellingen bij komen in onder anderen de steden Maastricht, Nijmegen, Assen, Heerlen, Enschede, Alkmaar, Hoorn en Zwolle.

Vrijdag 25 januari gaat de nieuwe theatershow van Karin Bloemen (Souvenirs) in premiere. In de loop van de tijd verzamel je van alles: foto's van bijzondere momenten, mooie en minder mooie herinneringen, kampeerspullen die je allang niet meer gebruikt, etc, etc... Na verloop van tijd is je huis en je hoofd zo vol, dat het hoog tijd wordt eens goed op te ruimen. In 'Souvenirs' voegt Bloemen de daad bij het woord en gooit als een stier in een porseleinkast alle ballast de deur uit. Dat doet ze ook heel letterlijk, want er zal elke avond onder het publiek een aantal persoonlijke items van Karin verloot worden (een jurk, schoenen, een tent...).

We live in a world of voyeurism. Reality tv in all its' forms is booming, and getting more extreme as time passes. Survivor (Expeditie Robinson) is such a format. The first Dutch edition in 2000 was an instant hit. Having evolved since the first edition, together with other reality tv formats, a valid question is raised... Are we going to far with candidates on reality tv shows? Where's the moral high ground? Where does the show end and intrusion in private life's begin? Where's the line?

Evita is a vocal masterpiece, not for the faint of heart. The vocal score is, as most of Andrew Lloyd Webber's work, as challenging as it is beautiful. Dazzling high and low notes, melodious songs, ranging in style and tempo. A classical piece in the musical theatre repertoire.

The opening night of All Stars at the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam is a soccer-lover's wet dream. The audience is wearing their club's t-shirt, there's beer and bitterballen, music and good vibes all around. It's like walking into the clubhouse of your favourite team. All Stars is part of Dutch pop culture. After the film and TV-series, we get to meet the new Swift Boys 8, who are now 25 years old and struggling to fit the team and soccer into their adult life.

Gerard Spong (73) is one of the most famous criminal lawyers in The Netherlands. After several tv appearances on Dutch talkshows such as 'Pauw' and 'DWDD', mr. Spong now shares his expertise during his theater college 'In Vertrouwen'. It's a fascinating night out. Legal jargon might be very dry and heavy, mr. Spong makes it bearable and sometimes even funny.

Returning to Amsterdam this fall after an 6 year absence, PALAZZO Amsterdam is proud to present a new show 'Haut Chaos; featuring executive chef Joris Bijdendijk of restaurant Rijks. MAMMA MIA! is a musical phenomenon. Since the premiere of the original show in 1999, 60 million people worldwide have seen 50 different productions performed in 16 languages. In The Netherlands alone, this is the 3rd production of this show over the past 15 years. Returning to their home theatre, MAMMA MIA! has once again landed at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht.

On Monday 9th of July, the musical She Loves Me celebrated their opening night at Dansmaker Theatre in Amsterdam. It's the second production by De Kernploeg, whose mission it is to bring American musicals to the Dutch audience, choosing productions which aren't as well-known and therefore might be commercially risky. After last year's production of A New Brain, this summer season will be brighted up by this smart and witty production of She Loves Me (book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock.)
