And speaking of 'Welcoming to Broadway', former 9 To 5 big screen co-stars Fonda and Dolly Parton had a backstage reunion after last nights opening. Parton will soon call Broadway 'home' as her musical adaptation of 9 To 5 hit the Great White Way at the Marriott Marquis Theatre.

Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster, currently starring as Princess Fiona in Broadway's Shrek The Musical, had her caricature unveiled at the world famous Sardi's Restaurant on March 3rd. Foster's likeness joined the ranks of Broadway royalty who have been honored with a caricature on the famous walls of Sardi's. BroadwayWorld joined the fun as Sutton's caricature was put up on the famous wall!

Jennifer Cody was the Gypsy Robe recipient for Shrek, the Broadway dynamo passed the robe on to Guys and Dolls ensemble member Lorin Latarro in a fun and emotion filled ceremony. BroadwayWorld's camera shared in the excitement as the cast cheered her on!

The first joint Broadway project by two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo since their collaboration on the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys, Guys and Dolls began previews on February 5, 2009 at Broadway's newly refurbished Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). The cast celebrated Opening Night on March 1, 2009 and BroadwayWorld's cameras greeted the starry arrivals.

Van Hill Entertainment and Red Griffin Media are proud to announce that the Off-Broadway premiere of ROOMS a rock romance, starring Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger, will begin performances on Friday February 27th at New World Stages/Stage 2 (340 West 50th Street). The New Group proudly presents Eugene O'Neill's epic drama Mourning Becomes Electra as the second production in its 2008-2009 season. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production is playing a limited Off-Broadway run January 27 - April 18th, 2009. The classic drama had an Official Opening Night on Thursday, February 19th and BroadwayWorld was there as the cast celebrated at the starry after party!

Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden will star in GOD OF CARNAGE, the new play by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, directed by Matthew Warchus, opening on Broadway at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45 Street) on Sunday March 22. Previews will begin on February 28. The cast held a 'meet & greet' at the Hilton Theatre Rehearsal Studios, 214 West 43rd Street between 7th & 8th Avenues, and BroadwayWorld sent in the cameras to catch the starry and talented group of actors.
